Nick Rowcliffe, Communications Lead
Nick leads communications at the GIE Foundation, shaping the narrative across all public outputs, overseeing editorial strategy, and managing external engagement. He also contributes directly to GIEF’s research and commentary, drawing on his deep expertise in environmental policy and sustainability.
Nick began his career in environmental advocacy, working as a researcher for The Green Alliance and Earthlife, and later writing policy reports for Friends of the Earth. He went on to serve as Editorial Consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme in Paris, before founding what became the EU’s leading environmental policy news service—widely read across government, industry, and civil society.
He has since worked as a sustainability consultant for local government in the UK and continues to write on the intersection of policy, environment, and systems change. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences.
